dynamic details that will improve the quality of your garments
and make your smocking a sewing easier. Topics include boys'
garments, bishop dresses, yoke dresses, smocking hints, hems,
linings, plackets, piping, neck bands, and more. Expect to have
the "Ah-ha!" experience!
Demonstrations will be done and
examples shown of the techniques discussed. The student will
learn to:
• Size a sash
• Tie a sash
• Put on double piping
• Put on a neckband
• Size and properly put in a 1" placket and a ½" placket
• Make the design match at the back of a bishop
• Do a tucked hem and a double tucked hem
• Sew a different kind of yoke lining
• Sew a piped yoke to a smocked dress front
• Guard against stains
• Sew a shortall an easier way
• Extend the wearing life of shortall and overalls
• Make overalls look better on young children
• Smock faster without losing quality
• Smock with fewer knots on the back of the piece
• Make neater knots
• Adapt dress shirt patterns into a polo shirt |
